While walking and looking around in the beginning of the game, enable Photo Mode (F3 in PC) and check out umbrellas that look like Captain America's shield from Marvel comics and movies.

A simple but cool detail in AC Shadows is the way everything burns if you put them on any fire.

There is a town with the name Obama in the Wakasa.

You Can Ride Boats

And they are very fast.

• You can ride a boat with no one on it or steal from someone. Interesting part is if the wife of the boat owner is onboard, she doesn't leave you.

Bonfire from Dark Souls

There is a fire with a sword in it as a reference to the Bonfires in Dark Souls games.

• It's next to water in Tanabe of Kii.

Naoe Hands Warming

If crouch down next to a fire Naoe will warm her hands.

• I don't know if this happens when it's cold only or always.

Heterochromia Cats

There are cats with Heterochromia eyes.

• Heterochromia is when your eyes has different colors.
• The one in the screenshot is in the Kyoto of Yamashiro. It's in south of the city (down in map) and around the Southern Kyoto Kakurega shrine.

Chill on Boats

If you find any boat with someone moving it around, you can sit on it and enjoy the ride.

Cat Island

The big island called Okishima in Lake Biwa of Omi has a lot of different cats in it. The Okishima island in real life is also known to have a lot of cats and is called Cat Island.

Demon Slayer Sliced Rock

Go to Yamato and then Katsuragi, find the Path of Secrets behind it and follow the path with yellow paints on your way. In the end you can see a sliced rock as a reference to the sliced rock in Demon Slayer anime.

No Shoes Inside Houses

If you enter people's house your shoes will disappear. It's a reference to the Japanese culture where they take their shoes off before entering their house.

Shark Statue

There is a scary shark monster statue next to the water under the Katsuragi of Yamato.

Leap of Faith in Winter
