Crashing while in loading black screen of Checking for Memory add-ons...  can be solved with blocking connection of AC Shadows in the Firewall.

Firewall

1. Open Firewall.

• Windows Security > Firewall & Network Protection > Advanced settings.

2. Go to Outbound Rules and open a New Rule.

3. Select Program and find ACShadows.exeand then choose Block the connection.

• Repeat for ACShadows_Plus.exe.

4. Create a new save and enjoy the game.
